Jesus said: "I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full," John 10:10.

Jesus is the only way to God, the only way to heaven.

Jesus said: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the father except through me."John 14:6

FINDING JESUS, THE WAY
Jesus has told us where we may learn of him:

"You diligently study the scriptures because you think that in them you possess eternal life. These are the scriptures that testify about me." - JOHN 5:39

The writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John reveal the facts about the life of Jesus.

"Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." - JOHN 20:30-31

The writings of Paul and others in the remainder of the New Testament also reveal to us the commands of Jesus.

Paul wrote: "If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command." - 1 CORINTHIANS 14:37

So studying the scriptures is essential if we are to know Jesus Christ.

JESUS, THE WAY TO A BETTER LIFE
Jesus stated His purpose in coming to earth in the following words:

"I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full." - JOHN 10:10

He does not promise wealth or luxury, but He does promise the necessities of life to those who follow him:

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well." - MATTHEW 6:31-33

Through Paul, Jesus gave the formula by which the faithful Christian may enjoy true peace within:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

If Christians do not possess this peace it is because they are not practising the religion of Jesus Christ.

JESUS, THE WAY TO FORGIVENESS OF SIN
Sin is violation of God's law. All men sin, but no man can forgive his own sin. God has made one provision for man's forgiveness. That is through Jesus Christ.

"He himself bore our sins in His body on the cross." - 1 PETER 2:24

Jesus has stated the conditions on which we can be forgiven of sins:

"And He said unto them, 'Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day; and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name unto all nations, beginning from Jerusalem"- LUKE 24:46-47

"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved." - MARK 16:16

" In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace." - EPHESIANS 1:7

JESUS, THE WAY TO GOD
When God first created man, there was a close relationship between Him and man. This relationship was extremely beneficial to man since the wisdom, knowledge and power of God were all exercised for His benefit. But by his sin, man sacrificed God's favour. By making possible forgiveness of sin, Jesus becomes man's way back to God.

"Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them." - HEBREWS 7:25

"All this is from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ" - 2 CORINTHIANS 5:18

It is through Jesus that we can come to God in prayer.

"For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit." - EPHESIANS 2:18

Jesus stated that He was the only one through whom men could come to God.

"Jesus answered, 'I am the way - and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - JOHN 14:6

JESUS, THE WAY OUT OF RELIGIOUS CONFUSION
Many who wish to follow Christ are put off by the multitude of churches and the conflicting doctrines taught by professed Christians. One does not have to be a part of this confusion. Jesus did not approve of it. Jesus promised:

"On this rock I will build My church." - MATTHEW 16:18

We read of the beginning of His church in the second chapter of Acts.

"And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." - ACTS 2:47

The Lord is still adding those who are being saved to His church. If we are saved, we are in His church and united with all others who are in it. His instructions then are:

"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one spirit - just as you were called to one hope when you were called - one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." - EPHESIANS 4:3-6

It is good for us to worship and work with other saved individuals who are bound with us in Christ by these unifying ties. But if we join another body (denomination) or accept another Lord (religious authority), or adhere to another faith (creed), we are leaving the unity for which Jesus prayed.

JESUS, THE WAY TO HEAVEN

"Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body." - PHILIPPIANS 3:20-21
